The 2010 National High School Dance Festival

Hosted by The New World School of the Arts (Daniel Lewis, Dean of Dance), Miami, FL, the National High School Dance Festival brings together over 1500 high school students plus teachers, chaperones and dance professionals from across the United States and abroad for an action-packed four days of classes, workshops, performances and scholarship auditions.

Along with exciting Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the Festival features six Adjudicated Concerts (two evening Gala concerts, two late afternoon Showcase concerts and two mid-day informal concerts), including a concert dedicated to student choreography.

The Festival also offers a full day of Scholarship Auditions for college entrance and summer dance intensives. Attendees can choose from three days of over 200 Master Classes in subject areas including ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, musical theater, salsa, African, Pilates, Massage, Stretch, Injury Prevention, Nutrition and more.

An outstanding nationally and internationally renowned Festival Faculty is ready to inspire everyone, and live music adds excitement to the classes. In addition, there are Commercial Exhibitors, college admissions representatives, and Special Interest Workshops for faculty and students.

Dance West leaves on Tuesday, March 16, and enjoys Wednesday visiting the Miami area and the local arts scene prior to the Festival kicking off on Thursday.
