Dance West performs, One Singular Sensation, their inaugural concert in the new ACMA Performing & Visual Arts Center under the direction of Artistic Director Julane Stites.

Many Dance West alums have moved on to perform in college and professionally. You can see where our alums are dancing in the Where Are They Now? alumni pages.

VIP Gala Opens ACMA Performing & Visual Arts Center

May 8 is the date to save for the opening of ACMA’s new Performing & Visual Arts Center.

Sure, there are a few events scheduled in the theatre in the weeks before May 8, but those are just shakedown cruises to get the new center ready to rock.

The day’s schedule looks like this, but we’ll add more detail when available:

10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Open House
6:00-7:30 p.m. VIP Reception
7:30-9:00 p.m. ticketed performances by ACMA students

Dance West Auditions: May 10

Open Auditions for Dance West are scheduled for May 10. The auditions will be held at ACMA in dance studio portlable 7.

Time: TBA

ACMA Dance Recital June 4 & 5, 2010

The annual ACMA Dance Recital will hit the stage at the new ACMA Performing & Visual Arts Center on June 4 and 5.

Dance West traditionally performs a small selection of pieces to open and close the recital, as well as provide breaks for other dance groups.

Last year’s recital on the Food Court stage was hot for both dancers and audience. Bottled water was was essential and fans were a welcome accessory. This year’s performance is a return to the ACMA campus, but in a brand new–and air-conditioned–facility. Say goodbye to the old Food Court stage!

There are over 400 seats in the theatre and three performances, so seating should be plentiful and performance times should meet everyone’s schedule.

More information to come on on ticket purchases.

Performance Times:
June 4 7:15 pm
June 5 3:00 and 7:15 pm
